Regulations affecting the Construction Sector - 22 February 2006
Venue – The Nelson Suite, Leicester Racecourse, Oadby
Sponsored by Oval Insurance Broking Limited
Government Regulation is increasingly affecting the way the Construction Industry works. This first ProCon Leicestershire Event of 2006 focuses on some of the key Regulations affecting health, safety and building practice and the way Government Agencies are enforcing them.
Our speakers for this overview will be:
1. Adrian Redwood of Summers Inman, who will examine the key points of the proposed forthcoming changes to the Building Regulations which will impact on all building design, costs and construction methods,
2. Phil Shields, Health and Safety Officer for Hallam Contracts Limited will explain the HSE’s current efforts to ensure implementation of the Working at Height Regulations and give a brief overview of the proposed changes to the Construction, Design and Management Regulations, and
3. Ruth Andrew, Solicitor at HBJ Gateley Wareing LLP, will review the way the OFT are putting the spotlight on Midlands construction firms in their efforts to stamp out cartels and other anti-competitive practices which they consider are practised widely in the construction industry – the dreaded “Dawn Raid” and what you can and cannot do when the OFT knock on your door!
We are grateful to Oval Insurance Broking Limited for sponsoring this Event. Mark Jackson, the Divisional Director (Construction Division) of Oval Insurance Broking Limited will introduce the Company and the speakers for the Event.
The Event will be held in the Nelson Suite at the Leicester Racecourse. Registration will commence at 6.00pm and formal proceedings will commence at 6.30pm. Afterwards, you are invited to stay for a drink, courtesy of our sponsor.
