Looking to the Future: A combined presentation to look at Customer Led Regeneration in the Housing Market and how you can have your say about how you want Leicester to change. - 10 October 2007
Venue – The City Rooms, Hotel Street, Leicester
Sponsored by CACI, Leicester City Council and Leicester Regeneration Company
Sponsored by CACI, Leicester City Council and the Leicester Regeneration Company Leicester has been identified as a housing growth point and will be expected to build 24,500 homes by 2026. This level of growth will help to keep housing affordable and boost the local economy through increased labour supply. But there are some big questions to be asked about where development will go and the impact that it will have on the City. Leicester City Council is preparing a series of planning documents for its Local Development Framework, which will replace the Local Plan and guide development and change in the City over the next 20 years. Public consultation is taking place on the issues and options for the overarching policy document, the Core Strategy. The presentation will highlight some of these issues and also how you can have your say! CACI will offer some new perspectives on understanding the range of housing types, sizes and price levels that could work in different locations in Leicester. They will show how using a wide range of data, benchmarking and consumer research can work alongside traditional methods to support creation of housing new markets. There will be intriguing insights from a recent national survey of homebuyers into what they really think about new housing, and what they will be looking for the next time they move. The results of this research have been groundbreaking and this presentation will reveal why. Leicester Regeneration Company will also be presenting a brief update on the MasterPlan for the City. Date: Wednesday 10th October 2007 Start Time: 6pm arrival for a 6.30pm start to the presentations Finish Time: Presentations will finish at approx 7.30pm Venue: The City Rooms, Hotel Street, Leicester Parking: No parking is available – the nearest NCP car parks are on York Road and at the Holiday Inn.
