ProCon Awards Finalist Showcase

Would you like to network with the finalists for the ProCon Awards 2019? If so this is the ideal opportunity.

We will have details of our finalists on display on a rolling presentaton and the applicants of these projects and developments will be on hand to network and talk in more detail about their projects.

Sponsors will also be present so this will be an excellent networking opportunity.

If you attend the Awards in November it can be very difficult to get round to speaking to and identifying everybody that you want to talk to; so this is your chance in an easier environment. Plus if you have been unable to secure tickets to the Dinner, then this is another way of being able to see our finalists.

ProCon Nottinghamshire - Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence

At this event NTU and Maber will talk about the use of Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence with particular reference to the current new build at NTU - The Engineering Building - which our event sponsor Henry Brothers are currently on site completing.

As well as hearing from Maber and NTU, there will also be a limited tour of the Engineering Building and a 'Marketplace' space where you can actually see and experience VR and AI close up.

Emerging Talent Masterclass

ProCon Emerging Talent have been busy planning their next event, which is to be a Masterclass, after the 2017 Masterclass proved so popular!

This time our panel will feature an Architect, Mechanical & Electrical Engineer, Solicitor and Development Planner. The speakers have been asked to talk about an iconic Leicestershire based project, and also give insight into their career highlights to date.

The event is being held at Friars Mill on the Thursday 4th April 2019, 5.30pm arrival for a 6.00pm start.

Leicester’s City Centre Office Market: What next…?

This event will provide an insight into the current market conditions and the challenges Leicester’s office market faces from both a council and agents perspective.

With a scarcity of good quality office accommodation in the city, what can be done to address this issue and what are the views of the city council?

Hear from both Innes England and Leicester City Council and have the opportunity to ask questions of them.

Emerging Talent Masterclass

This event is a follow on from our previous successful Masterclass event, where we will be hearing from industry experts who work in the following disciplines; Architecture, Engineering, Law and Planning/Development.

Each speaker will be giving us an overview of their career highlights and insight into what their work load involves. They will also be speaking in more detail about a Leicestershire based project that they have worked on.

Leicester Waterside - Update and Plans

Leicester waterside is a hidden gem. The area is located to the north west of the city centre between the A6 and Rally Park and contains the River Soar and Grand Union Canal.

These waterways have been an underused and often under–appreciated asset, cut off from the rest of the city by historical industrial development, some of this area suffers from high levels of vacancy and dereliction. The poor appearance and lack of investment in sites in this area makes a poor ‘front door’ for visitors to our city. But not anymore!

At this event David Beale from Leicester City Council will talk about the regeneration of the Waterside and the opportunity to turn the area around, bring in new investment and create a vibrant and thriving neighbourhood with new homes and new workspaces.

In 2017 Leicester City Council received £25 million of funding over five years to help kick-start development and as is clearly visible work has not commenced on some of these developments.

Keepmoat Homes will give details of an 18-acre brownfield site in Leicester’s Waterside area that they are developing into a new neighbourhood of homes, shops and workplaces. Alongside 302 new city centre homes, Keepmoat will deliver 67,500 square feet of office space, a 5,000 square foot retail unit and a park area.

And Charles Street Buildings will talk about the first phase of their development to include two hotels and an office block on the former Stibbe site, renovation of the former Leicester Central station, the creation of a large open public area and a super crossing of Vaughan Way to reunite the site with the city centre.

The Strategic Growth Plan for Leicestershire

The Strategic Growth Plan is a long term high level plan that is being prepared jointly by a partnership formed by Leicester City Council, Leicestershire County Council , the District and Borough Councils, and the Leicester & Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership (LLEP). In its final form the Plan will set out an agreed strategy focussing on delivering new housing, supporting the economy, identifying essential infrastructure, and protecting the environment and built heritage for the period to 2050.

The speakers will give insight into how they have reached their current positions, iconic projects they have helped develop and provide advice to those wishing to fast track their careers.
