Castle Surveys 2026 Spotlight

Castle Surveys Ltd - Consult - Capture - Process - Deliver

Castle Surveys is a multidisciplinary geospatial and land surveying company, headquartered in Ashby de la Zouch, with offices in Manchester, London, Cheltenham and Scotland.

Our capability runs the full geospatial spectrum. Topographic and measured building surveys, mobile mapping, 3D laser scanning, drone and UAV surveys, PAS 128 underground utility surveys, CCTV drainage surveys, and BIM and Revit modelling all sit under one roof, alongside hydrographic and bathymetric surveys backed by IHO Category A capability.

High Grade Mobile Mapping

Mobile mapping is where that investment really shows. We're the only company in the UK to own and operate two high grade mobile mapping systems, and rather than being tied to one platform, we can mount them onto our dedicated mobile mapping vehicle, our survey vessel, a train, an ATV or a pavement condition vehicle, whichever suits the terrain and the brief. That flexibility opens up a wide range of deliverables: topographic land surveys, PCI and pavement condition reporting, IRA, Inspection, swept path analysis, asset management data, large scale data capture and ortho imagery, to name a few. It's this combination of specialist hardware and the know-how to deploy it properly that sets us apart.

That range means we work across every sector, residential, commercial, infrastructure, heritage, marine and beyond, adapting the method to the job rather than the other way round. Whether it's a single measured building survey or a multi-discipline capture programme spanning several sites, the approach stays the same: accurate data, gathered properly, by people who understand what happens to it next.

HP Siteprint – Robotic Layout

Castle Surveys are also an HP SitePrint Service Provider, bringing robotic layout printing into the mix alongside our traditional survey capability. Instead of engineers chalking or hand marking a slab from drawings, HP SitePrint takes the design data straight from the model and prints it directly onto the surface, walls, partitions, MEP routes, whatever the drawing calls for, at millimetre accuracy and considerably faster than doing it by hand.

It's a genuinely different way of working. There's no manual measuring, no tape and chalk line, and crucially, no room for the small human errors that creep in when you're transferring a drawing onto a slab by eye. What you get instead is a layout that matches the model exactly, printed on site, ready for trades to work from straight away.

As with everything we do, it's delivered by our own people rather than handed off elsewhere. Our engineers are trained and competent in operating the system, so when a job comes in, you know it's being handled by someone who understands both the technology and the survey principles behind it, not just someone who can press start on a machine. That combination, robotic precision backed by proper surveying expertise, is what makes HP SitePrint worth having on a project, and it's exactly why we brought it in house.

Sectors & Clearance

Castle Surveys work across every sector, residential, commercial, infrastructure, education, heritage, defence, utilities, rail and marine among them, because the way we operate doesn't change from one industry to the next. The equipment might shift, and the deliverable will look different depending on who's asking for it, but the standard of methodology stays exactly the same wherever we're working.

That range brings its own demands, particularly when a project sits on a site where access simply isn't open to just anyone. Our surveyors hold the relevant security clearances needed to work on sensitive and restricted sites, so when a client operates in an environment with tighter access requirements, whether that's a live infrastructure asset, a secure facility or a site with its own vetting process, we can put the right people forward without it becoming a hurdle to getting the job started.

It's a point worth making because it's often overlooked until it becomes a problem. A survey team that's brilliant on a standard commercial site isn't automatically able to step onto a site with security requirements attached, and discovering that partway through a tender process wastes everyone's time. With Castle Surveys, that question has already been answered before you ask it.

If there's a particular clearance level or accreditation you'd like named specifically (SC, DBS, or a scheme tied to a certain sector), let me know and I'll work it into the text.
