Clegg Construction - Built in Nottingham. Delivering lasting value.

A regional contractor with its roots firmly in Nottingham.

Based in the heart of Nottingham’s historic Lace Market, Clegg Construction delivers public and private sector projects across the Midlands, Yorkshire, the North West and East Anglia, with project values ranging from £500,000 to £50 million.

Our experience spans education, commercial, industrial, multi-room, care, leisure, residential and healthcare. Whatever the sector or procurement route, our approach is consistent: listen carefully, work collaboratively and deliver high-quality places that continue to serve clients and communities long after handover.

Trading since the 1930s, our longevity is built on trusted relationships, repeat business and the strength of our people and supply chain. As a ProCon Patron, we are proud to contribute to the network that connects Nottinghamshire’s property and construction community.

Our vision

To deliver excellence and leave a lasting legacy through our people and partnerships.

A trusted route to delivery

Frameworks give public sector clients a compliant and efficient route to market, while creating the conditions for early collaboration. As a delivery partner, we support clients from project inception and pre-construction through to delivery, handover and in-use support.

Early engagement allows our teams to test buildability, programme, cost, logistics and carbon before work starts. It also helps us shape social value around local priorities, so commitments are relevant, measurable and capable of leaving a genuine legacy.

Current framework partnerships

  • SCAPE: Regional Construction Framework – East of England, projects up to £10 million
  • Department for Education: Construction Framework 2025 – Low Value Band, £5 million to £15 million, across the East Midlands, Yorkshire and Humber, North West/West Midlands and East of England
  • Other routes: Westworks, Procurement Hub and Constellia

What this means for clients

A framework appointment is more than a place on a supplier list. It reflects the systems, financial standing, technical capability and regional supply chain needed to mobilise with confidence. For clients, that means a clear route from first conversation to a deliverable project, supported by transparent governance and continuous improvement.

Experience across the built environment.

Our portfolio combines new build, refurbishment, remodelling and complex work in live environments. The following projects illustrate the breadth of that experience.

Education

From new schools to specialist teaching facilities, we understand the safeguarding, phasing and communication needed to deliver safely in live learning environments. Recent work includes Drakelow Primary School and the Centre for Green Technology at Peterborough College.

Multi-room

Our multi-room experience includes purpose-built student accommodation and build-to-rent schemes, where repeatable quality, logistics and programme control are critical to successful delivery.

Care

We create welcoming, high-quality care environments that balance operational requirements with the comfort, dignity and wellbeing of residents, families and staff

Leisure and hospitality

Our teams are experienced in the detailed coordination, refurbishment and stakeholder management required for hotels and leisure destinations, including complex city-centre locations.

Regeneration with a local legacy

Stocking Farm, Leicester – a residential regeneration scheme designed around an established community.

Residential regeneration is about more than delivering new homes. It requires a clear understanding of place, careful engagement and a delivery strategy that respects existing residents while creating long-term value. Schemes such as Stocking Farm demonstrate our ability to bring together housing, public realm and community priorities within one coordinated programme.

Social value that responds to place

We want the benefits of construction to be felt beyond the site boundary. Working with clients, schools, charities, community organisations and our supply chain, we shape activity around the needs of each area. This includes creating routes into employment, supporting skills and careers, opening opportunities for local SMEs and VCSEs, volunteering and improving local environments.

Our approach is grounded in practical delivery and transparent reporting. By agreeing priorities early and tracking progress throughout the project, social value becomes core part of the way a scheme is delivered.

Local by intent

From our Nottingham base, we use regional knowledge and established supply-chain relationships to retain investment, skills and opportunity within the communities in which we work.

Our values in action

  • People and partnerships. Open, respectful relationships create better decisions and stronger outcomes.
  • Social and environmental. We work to reduce environmental impact and maximise lasting community benefit.
  • Quality and innovation. Robust systems, technical expertise and continuous improvement underpin every project.
