Loughborough College Sports Centre is a three-storey, 2,750 square metre sports and learning facility designed to support elite performance, teaching excellence and the long-term growth of the campus.

The scheme is a flagship element of the College’s wider £35 million investment programme and provides a future-ready environment for students, staff and the wider college community.

Delivery took place on a live and operational college campus, requiring careful phasing and proactive coordination to protect student safety and minimise disruption throughout the build.

Further Information

The facility brings together specialist sporting and academic accommodation within a single building. Key spaces include a sports hall capable of hosting a 40m x 20m Premier League-standard handball court, a strength and conditioning suite, cardiovascular training areas, modern classrooms, changing and staff facilities and an external running track.

At the heart of the development is the Performance and Recovery Centre, a sector-leading resource that directly supports the College’s sport degree programmes and strengthens its reputation for high-quality sports education.

The thermal efficiency of the construction is complemented by a 76-panel solar PV installation forecast to generate 29,300 kWh of renewable electricity per year, alongside sustainable heat source pumps.
