Corporate Architecture have much to celebrate this year already. Putting ourselves through a series of rigorous vetting processes to determine financial stability and technical capability, we have secured positions in a number of prestigious and highly valued construction frameworks. Our inclusion in these arrangements is validation of the high standards to which we hold ourselves and opportunities for our team to engage in a variety of interesting, challenging and innovative projects which will expand their skills and experience.
We have always believed in collaborative practice and firmly believe that framework working is an excellent way to promote teamwork and communication which, if done honestly and well, will nurture strong partnerships for the future. These long-term relationships allow partners to work together on value engineering and innovative solutions that a one-off tender may not permit.
Frameworks are often a way to prioritise local SME engagement, giving local businesses the opportunity to showcase their skills and talents on high profile projects. We have the good fortune to have worked with a number of excellent local businesses on a range of different projects and being part of a framework that seeks to support the local economy, gives us the chance to showcase some of those enterprises and introduce them to projects that may otherwise have gone elsewhere.
Being of social value to our locality has been part of the Corporate Architecture ethos since inception. We have a strong tradition of developing young people’s careers through Apprenticeships, degree programmes and other training and are delighted that so many of them have stayed with us and are taking up senior positions in the management of the practice. We work with local schools on a number of activities to promote awareness and understanding of the huge range of career opportunities within construction. We continue to support local charities and not for profit organisations through financial and in-kind donations and pro-bono assistance as well as attending charity events in our community.
We were delighted to win our 7th ProCon award last November, this time for the Small Residential Project of the Year, Kiln House in Diseworth. Inheriting this project from John Fowkes Architects it was a real pleasure to be able to gain such as prestigious award for our clients, Mr and Mrs Mokha.
Residential work continues to be an important sector for us, but we have continued to maintain a diverse portfolio, undertaking a wide range of projects across the UK and beyond. We continue to act for an international luxury brand and enjoy relationships with clients locally and across the country including:
We are working with the Police and Fire Service as part of a wide package of works to rationalise and maximise the police and fire estate, we are about to begin construction on two fire stations and a joint police and fire vehicle workshop.
VPK – we are working with this major supplier of sustainable packaging solutions, to create a major extension to their works in Selby, North Yorkshire.
We continue to maintain our strong relationship with revered London contractor, Knight Harwood, developing a new headquarters and content studio for a multi-billion-pound Mobile App development company. Having worked previously with Knight Harwood to deliver, amongst other projects, the Peloton Super-Studio broadcast exercise facilities in London’s Covent Garden, Knight Harwood have returned to Corporate Architecture again for our dependable project delivery services.
We are employed to take Stage 4 Designs from a world renowned UK architect practice, aiding the Principal Contractor as part of the Contractor Design Portion under their construction contract. Completing the finite coordination to realise the architectural vision of others, Knight Harwood turned to Corporate Architecture knowing our service provision will match the strict demands of a concise construction programme, going above and beyond to ensure progress on site never stops.
It is a real pleasure to return to Kilworth House Hotel to carry out extensive remedial works on the impressive orangery that is such a significant feature of the hotel. As the architects responsible for the conversion of Kilworth House into a luxury hotel and the design and build of the nationally renowned theatre, we are delighted to be able to continue to support the hotel team.
This residential development, now underway, will encompass a total of 186 new dwellings, providing regeneration to an existing social housing area. With the local community involved as part of the design process, the creation of new housing & apartments will provide private gardens and a central thoughtfully designed public open space, to establish a distinctive and high-quality residential community that harmonizes with the existing character of Wolverhampton.
This popular local cricket club has expanded its use beyond expectations since its opening in 2006 and this project comprises the redevelopment and extension of the existing second pitch pavilion to meet the growing and increasingly diverse needs of the club and to accommodate wider participation across the community.
The future is busy and that is just the way we like it. We continue to support our partners within ProCon and if we can assist you in any way, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us. In the meantime, we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at ProCon and the events in Leicester and promoting and supporting the massive pool of talent within our county.
