Awards Night at the ProCon Leicestershire Awards 2018

The best construction projects in Leicestershire have been named winners of the 2018 ProCon Leicestershire Awards.

Homes for students and a family, a village’s community centre, a rehabilitation unit, a rescued country house and a massive urban extension all won during the ceremony at Leicester City’s King Power Stadium.

Three corporate sponsors backed the Awards: Countryside Partnerships East Midlands, Salus Approved Inspectors and Unique Window Systems.

The winners are:

  • The Small Residential Scheme of the Year, sponsored by Galliford Try Partnerships: The Walnuts, Tilton on the Hill, submitted by Peter Wilmot Architects
  • The Large Residential Scheme of the Year, sponsored by Galliford Try Partnerships: Princess Road East, Leicester, submitted by Stepnell
  • The Small Non-Residential Scheme of the Year, sponsored by Infrastructure Investments: Get Busy Living Centre, Burrough on the Hill, submitted by Willmott Dixon, MDA Consulting, Corporate Architecture, Salus, BSP Consulting, Couch Perry Wilkes, CPMG Architects and Derry Building Services
  • The Large Non-Residential Scheme of the Year, sponsored by Infrastructure Investments: Mountsorrel Memorial Centre, submitted by Stepnell
  • The Regeneration Project of the Year, sponsored by Keepmoat Homes: Winstanley House, Leicester, submitted by MAS Architecture
  • The Infrastructure Project of the Year, sponsored by Pochin: New Lubbesthorpe Sustainable Urban Extension, submitted by Mather Jamie
  • The Architectural Image of the Year, sponsored by Sturgis Snow and Astill: Interior of the STEM Lab, Loughborough University, by Christopher Terry, Christopher Terry Photography

There were also special prizes for innovation awarded to: Willow Brook Organic Farm Barn; New Chimpanzee Eden at Twycross Zoo; and the Sustainable Drainage System at Birkett House SEN School.

Comedian and actor Hal Cruttenden hosted the event for 620 people and conducted the raffle which raised £7,387.70 for Brain Tumour Research.

ProCon chair Pam Allardice, of the construction law firm Allardice Associates, said: “Congratulations to all the wonderful winners in the 16th year of our ProCon Awards.
