Springfield House is a new two-storey home in the Billesdon Conservation Area which replaces a dormer bungalow with a contemporary country home, designed to respond sensitively to its historic village location.
The modern family home also has a detached garage with a self-contained one-bedroom annex, all set within a rural landscape.
The dwelling was designed to maximise views across the surrounding countryside while protecting the privacy of neighbouring properties. The ambition was to create a home that sits comfortably within its location.
The design approach draws on the architecture of the village, reinterpreting traditional forms and materials in a contemporary way, while ensuring the building provides generous, functional and light-filled living spaces.
Springfield House was the final commission of a master stonemason, whose decades of expertise are reflected in every stone.
The completed dwelling demonstrates a strong balance between its heritage setting and contemporary design ambition. High-quality materials, bespoke craftsmanship and careful attention to detail define the scheme.
