Construction to begin on 475-home Hinckley development
Vistry, the provider of mixed‑tenure homes, is set to start work on a major new development in Hinckley, Leicestershire, following the approval of reserved matters in December 2025.
The 54‑acre site, located to the east of Stoke Road and north of Normandy Way and to be known as Millers Place, has full planning permission for 475 new homes.
The development will deliver a mix of homes across a range of tenures, including homes for the open market, and a range of affordable options, supporting local housing need and contributing to the continued growth and regeneration of the Hinckley area.
Andy Reynolds, managing director of Vistry South East Midlands, said: “Getting spades in the ground at this flagship development marks an important milestone for Vistry in Leicestershire.
“The reserved matters approval in December allowed us to move quickly into the delivery phase, and we’re excited to bring forward a diverse range of high‑quality homes that will meet local demand and create a vibrant new community.”
All properties will be constructed using modern methods of construction, including timber frame panels produced at the nearby Vistry Works factory in Bardon, Leicestershire.
This approach will enhance sustainability and support faster build times, while minimising disruption for the local community. Each home built using these panels emits 14,460kg CO₂e less than a traditional brick‑and‑block house.
Work is expected to start in March 2026
