Leicester City Council Procurement Briefing and Workshop

2nd April 2014: 8.00am to 10.30am

Would you like to know more about the procurement process operated by Leicester City Council? Would you like to feed back to the Council your experiences and comments about this process?

If so, then you should attend this workshop.

Sir Peter Soulsby and Neil Bayliss, Head of Procurement will be in attendance and will provide an overview. But the main aim is to consult with ProCon members and to get your feedback.

So book to attend if you want to:

find out more about the progress Leicester City Council is making to support local procurement to assist Leicester Businesses;
understand public sector procurement constraints and what the city council are doing to simplify procurement procedures;
hear about some common issues with tenders received by the council;
let the Council know what barriers you have faced in securing work with the council and offer solutions

After the Event

The Procurement consultation event was attended by approx 50 delegates. All of whom had a chance to speak to the City Mayor and put across their view points on the Leicester City Council procurement process.

Whilst the main points were summarised by Andrew Smith, Director on the day; the Counsil will be putting together an action plan that will be submitted to those present at the event and also other members in due course.

There will also be a follow up event planned for early in 2015.
