2020-2021 ProCon Awards winners revealed

The best construction projects in Leicestershire have been named winners of the 2020-21 ProCon Leicestershire Awards.

Hotels, homes and a hospitality venue all won during a ceremony at Leicester City’s King Power Stadium, which was attended by more than 600 people.

Four corporate sponsors backed the 18th Awards: Gateley Legal, Salus Approved Inspectors, Unique Window Systems and Vistry Partnerships.

The winners are:

Infrastructure Project of the Year, sponsored by Charles Henry & Sons: SEGRO Logistics Park, Kegworth, submitted by Winvic Construction

Regeneration Project of the Year, sponsored by Keepmoat Homes: Great Central Square, Leicester, submitted by Morgan Sindall Construction

Small Non-Residential Scheme of the Year: Great Central Station – Lane7, Leicester, submitted by Charles Street Buildings

Large Non-Residential Scheme of the Year: Everards Meadows, Phase 1B, Leicester, submitted by Kier Construction

Small Residential Scheme of the Year: Forest View, Belton, submitted by Peter Crichton

Medium Residential Scheme of the Year: Bull in the Oak, Cadeby, submitted by HSSP Architects and Hallam Read Construction

Large Residential Scheme of the Year: The Mill, Loughborough, submitted by HSSP Architects

Property Deal of the Year: Novotel and Adagio Hotel, Leicester, submitted by Charles Street Buildings

The River Soar and Grand Union Canal Access & Environmental Improvement Programme, submitted by Leicester City Council, won an innovation prize.

ProCon chair Umesh Desai: “Congratulations to our winners. The crop of entries for these extended Awards was spectacular. The quality of projects submitted was truly excellent.

“Our thanks go to all the entrants, our judges who had such a difficult job and to our sponsors for their amazing support.”

During the event a raffle was held, with proceeds going to the muscular dystrophy charity Alex’s Wish and a new bursary set up in memory of ProCon Leicestershire founder and chair for 20 years, Pam Allardice.
