The Barons Pastures development regenerated a brownfield site by creating two distinct collections of properties, providing 17 individually designed homes in the village of Kirby Muxloe.
For the design of the development, inspiration was taken from the existing properties on the site: a Victorian farmhouse, farm cottages and agricultural buildings.
The project included renovating the farm buildings, which include the double fronted Victorian farmhouse and converted barns and stables. Another ten brand new buildings were created.
When planning the development, a key focus was to maintain and make use of existing buildings to blend their rustic charm and traditional features with modern new build homes.
The homes range from three to six bedrooms to cater for downsizers and growing families, with space for working from home, outdoor living, storage and car parking.
All properties benefit from an Air Source Heat Pump providing a low carbon alternative to traditional heating. The development also includes electric vehicle charging ports at each of the homes.
