About the Pam Allardice Rising Star of the Year Award 2025

NO VOTING IN THIS CATEGORY - WINNER DECIDED BY JUDGING PANEL

This award will showcase, recognise and celebrate the successes of property and construction professionals at an early stage of their career and who as at 30 June 2025 are under the age of 30. This applies to individuals in substantive posts or trainee positions, both students and non-students are eligible. The nominee should have demonstrated innovative thinking, made a significant contribution to a project, or otherwise demonstrated their ability to rise to the top. Entrants should be able to demonstrate how, specifically, they have made a difference to their projects or business.

They will be judged on all round ability - not only academic and work-related achievements - but also their enthusiasm for property and construction as an industry and their ambition.

Entries should be submitted by the nominee’s employer and should include a commendation from a senior leader within their organisation.

Entrants must be currently employed by a member company of ProCon Leicestershire.

Since joining Stephen George + Partners (SGP) in 2020, Joseph has progressed through four positions, from assistant to associate, in a career defined by design leadership, strategic thinking and professional integrity.

2025 Award Finalist

Josh is an Associate in Shakespeare Martineau’s Legal Planning Team, based in the East Midlands but serving clients nationally. He qualified as a solicitor in September 2021 and joined Shakespeare Martineau shortly after.

Award Criteria

The application will be judged by a panel of expert judges and a shortlist selected by the end of July.

The shortlisted person will then be interviewed by the panel of judges on Tuesday 12th August 2025 in order to select three finalists.

The winner of the Rising Star of the Year Award will be decided by the panel of expert judges.

Entrants will be judged on the following criteria:

  • Career achievements and what the individual did to make them happen
  • Academic or mentoring success
  • Leadership with illustrative examples
  • Initiatives conceived and/or driven by the rising star
  • An outline of the projects worked on, the technical challenges, along with how the nominee contributed to solving these
  • How the candidate has made a mark on the employer, industry and their colleagues
  • What makes the candidate different from others in a similar position
  • How the candidate demonstrates the values of Professionalism, Integrity, Excellence and Respect. This could be in their work, industry, amongst their peers and/or within society.
